Don't worry, we're not performing tonight. We're going out to check out a new variety talent show night put on by a mix of professionals and uni students. The entertainment will include live bands, stand up comedy, DJ's, dance routines, competitions, and lots of prizes and giveaways. Put on by the UTS in the city it is a great night of comedy, live music and a rocking party so come check out some fresh new talent.

Sunday August 23 Reptile Park- Crocodile Wrestlers Need not Apply
We're all new age Tarzan types here at the Club. We don't wrestle crocs anymore. No, we just like hanging out with crocodiles and other wild animals. And that's exactly why we're heading north to the world renowned Reptile Park. They have new interactive animal experiences including a walk with Willie the wombat, Hugo the Galapagos tortoise and dingoes. There's loads of fascinating daily wildlife shows including Australia's only funnel web spider venom milking show, the uniquely themed exhibits Lost World of Reptiles and Spider World, Tasmanian devils, platypus; red, grey and Kangaroo Island kangaroos, cuddly koalas and snuggly pythons only at The Zoo with BITE!

So in this newsletter you will notice two less Thursdays are replaced by an extra weekend day. At the end of Spring, when evening activity demand increases we increase the number of evening activities.
Saturday August 29 Drumming Workshop and Karaoke World
Hey there Peer Supporters, it's time to get your groove on! Today we are heading to a special Drumming Workshop for an hour of drumming and fun beats. At the workshop we will be joined by the Saturday Program seniors, who will be there to help us raise the roof! After all that drumming we will be warmed up and ready to head to Karaoke World for some singing and dancing. If you have a passion for music, then this is the day for you!

Thursday September 03 Spring Planting and Pot Decoration

Saturday September 05 Adventure Games at the Collaroy Centre
Today we are meeting at the Collaroy Centre to participate in an Adventure Bonding Day. The Collaroy Centre has some fantastic team games that can be adapted to suit everybody's needs. A facilitator will meet us there to help us have fun together on games like the Blindfolded Maze, the Balancing Log, the Web Maze, the Flying Fox, and the Giant Swing. Don't worry if you think you might not be able to do it…there will be an activity for all levels and abilities.

Saturday September 12 Four Weddings and A Flea Market
It is mostly a day spent browsing the flea markets in either Glebe or Paddington but we will be sneaking a look (from the sidelines) at some of the big spring weddings on show outside churches all over town.The glamourous outfits, fancy cars, the flowers, the photo-posing and the spectacle. Who knows, we may even end up in someone's wedding album.

Sunday September 13 Festival of the Winds @ Bondi Beach
Feel the breeze in your hair and warm sun on your back- Spring has arrived - and gee didn't it take it's time gettting here! Today we are going to journey to Bondi beach for the Festival of the Winds! The BIGGEST annual kite flying festival in Austalia!! We can check out the amazing kite displays from around the globe and it’s not just the experts who can fly their kites - why not bring your own! If you don’t have a kite you can buy one from one of the stalls in the park, or better still, we can make our own at one of the kite making workshops. We will enjoy a leisurely picnic on the sand and soak up the warm sunshine. So bring a kite and prepare to meet new friends.

Thursday September 17 Fondue Night
mmmm...fondue! Come and join us for an evening of fun and frivolity, and more importantly fondue. Sunday September 20 Picnic and Stroll at Botany Bay National Park
Botany Bay National Park features a unique combination of natural and cultural heritage. Not only will we be able to see the site of first contact between the crew of James Cook's Endeavour and the Aboriginal people of Australia in 1770, but we will also be wandering the beautiful surrounds of the park and taking in the scenery. Today we will head out on the bus and find a nice spot to set up a picnic. After lunch we can head off on a nice, easy stroll to take in the spectacular views, and maybe even spot a whale or two. After all that we can choose to play a ball game or maybe just relax in the afternoon sun.

Saturday September 26 Musical Theatre - The Secret Garden
Today Peer are going south to check out the Miranda Musical Society at the Sutherland entertainment. The society regularly put on Musicals and are currently performing a musical of Frances Burnett's classic novel The Secret Garden. This is the story of an orphaned child who goes to live in England and discovers a beautiful hidden garden behind massive walls. It will be full of songs, dance routines and beautiful sets.
