Support for parents and carers
As a parent or carer of someone with a disability you may find it helpful talking to other people in a similar situation, sharing information and forming new friendships with others who understand what you are experiencing.
We run a range of activities including: workshops, training and social events specifically so parents and carers can share experiences, offer support and gain information.
We have a range of offerings which include:
• weekends away, such as Mums Weekends so you can mix with other parents;
• parent support groups, such as morning teas and get togethers where you can talk about your experiences, concerns and challenges.
• Events including our annual Family Fun day, social gatherings and fundraising events
We can help link you with another parent for information support and friendship.
Siblings Activities and support
As a brother or sister of a child with a disability, you may benefit from meeting other young people in a similar situation, enjoying fun activities and sharing your experiences and how you feel.
We run regular activities in school holidays for children aged 7-12 as well as adventure and social groups for teenagers.
If you would like to find out more about any of the above support programs, are interested in volunteering or would like to discuss individually tailored options please contact us, we would love to hear from you.
